The regiment was posted throughout Quebec, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Ontario, New
York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and the
Caribbean. A shipload of soldiers was swept out to sea by a terrible storm and
ship-wrecked off the coast of Ireland. The 84th was disbanded in 1784 and most members
settled in Nova Scotia on land given them by the king.
